Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Washington DC on Thursday (13 February) for a high-profile bilateral meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House.
The visit, scheduled for 12-13 February, comes in the fourth week of Trump’s second term in office, reports NDTV.

The talks between the two leaders take place against a backdrop of escalating global tensions, including the US president’s contentious trade tariffs, his widely debated Gaza peace plan, and the ongoing mass deportation of illegal immigrants. These pressing issues are anticipated to feature prominently in their discussions as both nations seek to bolster diplomatic and economic ties.
Modi is the fourth global leader to visit the White House since Trump’s inauguration on 20 January. The US president has previously hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, and Jordan’s King Abdullah in the initial weeks of his renewed tenure.
Beyond the White House, Modi is also expected to engage with Elon Musk in Washington.
Reports suggest their discussions may centre on the delayed rollout of Starlink’s satellite broadband services in India, a development that has garnered significant interest from both political and business circles.
