Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has projected a slight increase in temperature across the country from Tuesday (28 January), with both daytime and nighttime readings expected to rise by 1 to 3°C.

Over the next 24 hours, the weather is likely to remain dry with partly cloudy skies, BD said in its weather update on Monday (27 January).

However, light to moderate fog may form late at night and persist until morning across the country.

A mild cold wave is currently sweeping over Sirajganj, Dinajpur, and Moulvibazar and is expected to continue. Meanwhile, temperatures during both day and night are likely to remain largely unchanged.

From Tuesday morning, dry conditions with partly cloudy skies will prevail nationwide. However, moderate to dense fog may develop in river basins, while other regions could experience light to moderate fog from late night until morning.

A slight increase in both daytime and nighttime temperatures is anticipated.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, similar weather patterns are expected, with nighttime temperatures rising by 1 to 3°C and daytime temperatures showing a slight increase.

The forecast further indicates that during the early days of the five-day outlook, there is a likelihood of rainfall in the northeastern parts of the country.
