The suspect who attempted to rob the Mumbai home of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan and attacked the movie star has been detained by the police, said Mumbai Crime Branch DCP.

Mumbai Crime Branch DCP visited the Bandra station to interrogate the key suspect, reports Times of India.
Saif Ali Khan sustained multiple stab wounds during a burglary attempt at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai.
According to a statement from the Mumbai Police, the assailant gained entry to Saif's residence at approximately 2:30am on 16 January, where he encountered a member of the household staff.
A heated altercation ensued, culminating in the intruder attacking Saif Ali Khan when he attempted to intervene.
The actor was stabbed six times, with two injuries classified as severe, including one perilously close to his spine.
The attacker fled the scene immediately, prompting a comprehensive investigation by the authorities.
Saif was swiftly transported to Lilavati Hospital, where Dr Niraj Uttamani, the hospital’s COO, disclosed that the actor underwent surgery to address his injuries.
“The full extent of the damage will become apparent post-operation,” Dr Uttamani remarked, adding that Saif’s condition is being meticulously monitored.
Kareena Kapoor Khan, visibly distressed, has remained by Saif’s side at the hospital.
Their two young sons, Taimur and Jeh, were not involved in the incident and are reported to be safe.
The family resides in the Satguru Sharan building in Bandra West, an area famed for its high-profile residents and purported security.
This alarming incident has reverberated across the entertainment industry, prompting an outpouring of support and prayers for Saif’s swift recovery.
