An incident of violence and chair-smashing erupted during the recording of the country's most popular magazine show, "Ityadi" in Thakurgaon, leading to the event being suspended ahead of its scheduled conclusion.

However, Officer-in-Charge of Ranishankoil Police Station, Arshadul Haque, has denied any physical altercations occurred at the scene.

The incident took place on Thursday evening (9 January) at the Rajbari in Ranishankoil, Thakurgaon, where "Ityadi" had been organised.

Several videos capturing the commotion and vandalism have already circulated on social media, quickly going viral.

Reports indicate that the 'Ityadi' authorities had arranged for approximately 2,000 entry passes across Thakurgaon district.

Despite this, nearly a hundred thousand people turned up at the event. Disorder erupted over seating, escalating into vandalism and violence.

Multiple attempts by the organisers to restore order proved futile, compelling them to halt the event midway.

Attendees have attributed the turmoil to poor event management.

Social media has been inundated with posts criticising the organisers, accompanied by images and footage from the event.

Sanowar Haider Sabuj, an attendee with an entry pass, lamented, "Despite having a pass, I couldn't enter the event. This mismanagement is solely the organisers' fault."

Another spectator, Russell, commented, "The massive turnout was anticipated, yet adequate security measures were not implemented. This is a failure on their part."

A Facebook user, Rezaul, wrote, "I will never attend another 'Ityadi' event."

Announcing the suspension, "Ityadi" director Hanif Sanket stated, "Despite our best efforts, we couldn't calm the situation. We wanted to create a beautiful event for you, but unfortunately, it was not possible."

Arshadul Haque, OC of Ranishankoil Police Station, refuted claims of violence, saying, "There was no fighting, only some mischievous youths tossing chairs. The event was concluded early, not suspended. Moreover, no one was injured."

Repeated attempts to contact Ranishankoil Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rakibul Hasan for comments went unanswered.
