A low-pressure area may develop over the southeast Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

The agency, in its latest weather update on Sunday (15 December), has also indicated the likelihood of light drizzle in various regions of the country due to this development.

The bulletin states that the extended section of the subcontinental high-pressure ridge is positioned over West Bengal and adjoining areas, while the season’s normal low-pressure zone lies over the South Bay of Bengal, extending up to the North Bay of Bengal.

A low-pressure area is anticipated to form in the southeast Bay of Bengal within 24 hours.

Weather forecast suggests that skies across the country may remain partly cloudy temporarily, with overall dry conditions prevailing.

Night temperatures are likely to drop slightly, while daytime temperatures may see a minor increase.

A mild cold wave continues to affect Panchagarh and Chuadanga, with conditions likely to persist.

The bulletin further mentions that light to moderate fog may form in some areas of the country from midnight to morning.

Over the extended five-day forecast period, there is a possibility of rainfall, according to the Meteorological Department.
