BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that Awami League is isolated from people because it has killed democracy and committed genocide in the country.
The BNP leader made the comment while talking to journalists after paying tribute to intellectuals at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in Mirpur in the city on Saturday (14 December) morning on the occasion of Martyred Intellectuals Day.
Regarding the election, he said, the environment for elections will be created very soon according to the people's wishes.
“We are always optimistic. An interim government has already been established, we are cooperating. We hope that an election will be arranged very soon according to the people's wishes,” said Fakhrul.
He also hoped that the people will get the opportunity to elect their representatives through a free, fair and impartial election.
