At least 5 passengers of an auto-rickshaw were killed, and two others sustained injuries when a train collided with the vehicle at a rail crossing in Kalikapur under Bakshimul Union, Burichong Upazila, Comilla.
The tragic accident occurred on Tuesday morning (26 November), said Burichong Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shaheda Akhter.
Further investigations into the circumstances leading to the accident are underway.
Authorities have yet to ascertain whether the collision resulted from human error or a mechanical failure at the rail crossing.
