The Appellate Division has suspended the decision to appoint a receiver at Salman F Rahman's Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited.
However, the court maintained that the High Court's order for receiver appointments at other Beximco Group entities remains effective.
The ruling was delivered on Tuesday (12 November) by a three-member bench led by Justice Ashfaqul Islam.
According to Beximco Pharma's counsel, Mostafizur Rahman Khan, the court has directed the High Court’s Division Bench, led by Justice Farah Mahbub, to resolve the rule on receiver appointment within two weeks.
Previously, on 5 September, following a writ petition, the High Court issued an order and a rule.
It instructed the attachment of all assets of the Beximco Group and mandated the appointment of receivers for a six-month period to manage the group’s companies.
The High Court also directed Bangladesh Bank to recover funds taken from various banks by Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited's founder, Salman F Rahman, and to repatriate any funds transferred abroad.
