Awami League presidium member and former minister, Amir Hossain Amu, was arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) police on Wednesday (6 November), from the Dhanmondi area of the capital.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Detective Branch), Rezaul Karim Mallik, confirmed the arrest, stating that Amu faces several murder charges.
The police intend to formally present him in court on these charges, where a remand request will be made to facilitate further investigation.
