Rainfall is expected across various regions of the country, with the possibility of mist settling over parts of the river basins, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

In a statement signed on Monday (4 November), meteorologist Hafizur Rahman reported that the seasonal low-pressure area is currently centred over the southern Bay of Bengal, with an extension stretching into the northeastern Bay of Bengal.

As a result, light rain is anticipated over a few areas in the Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions within the next 24 hours from 9am on Monday.

Other areas across the country may experience partly cloudy skies, although the weather is likely to remain predominantly dry.

Over the subsequent 24-hour period, light rain or thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds are expected in parts of the Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, as well as in select locations across the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions.

Additionally, from 9am on Wednesday (6 November) light rain is forecast in isolated areas within the Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions.

The extended five-day forecast indicates the likelihood of rain towards the end of this period.

Meanwhile, a minimum temperature of 18.4 degrees Celsius was recorded today at Tetulia in Panchagarh, marking the country’s lowest.

According to the BMD, day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly steady across the country, with a slight drop in both anticipated tomorrow, Tuesday (5 November).

While daytime temperatures are projected to remain steady the following day, night temperatures may see a slight rise.

Light to moderate mist is expected to form in some river valleys nationwide in the early hours during this period.
