Despite an extended Eid holiday, economic activity will not face disruptions, assured Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed on Thursday (27 March).
Speaking to journalists at the Secretariat following a meeting of the Government Procurement Advisory Council, he stated that key officials, including advisers and most secretaries, will remain in Dhaka, ensuring seamless coordination through in-person or virtual discussions as needed.
In the procurement meeting, approval was granted for the import of 50,000 tonnes of Basmati rice through open tender, along with 70,000 tonnes of fertiliser sourced from Saudi Arabia and domestic suppliers.
Additionally, two cargoes of LNG will be procured from the spot market to meet energy demands.
