On the occasion of Bangladesh’s Independence and National Day, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has extended his warm congratulations to the nation, reiterating Washington’s commitment to supporting Dhaka's democratic aspirations and fostering regional stability.
In a statement published on the US State Department’s website on Tuesday (25 March), Rubio acknowledged the significance of the day, remarking that the celebration comes at a pivotal moment in Bangladesh’s history.
He highlighted the role of the interim government in preparing the nation for elections, which, he stated, would allow the people to choose their future course.
“The United States stands by Bangladesh in its journey towards a bright and democratic future,” he affirmed.
He further expressed Washington’s eagerness to continue its partnership in advancing economic growth and regional security in the Indo-Pacific.
Rubio also reaffirmed the United States' commitment to strengthening bilateral ties, stating, “On this special occasion, I extend my heartfelt greetings to the people of Bangladesh and reiterate our dedication to working together for a safer, stronger, and more prosperous future.”
