A devastating fire erupted at the Amin Bazar power grid in Savar on Tuesday (11 March) morning, prompting an extensive emergency response from the fire service.
Nine firefighting units had been deployed to bring the blaze under control.
According to a statement from the Fire Service and Civil Defence media cell, the fire was reported at 7:15am and the fire was contained by 9am.
The first firefighting unit arrived at the scene within five minutes, at 7:20am, with additional units joining the effort shortly after.
Initially, eight units were engaged in firefighting operations, but at 8:39am, a ninth unit was dispatched to reinforce the response.
Cause of the fire and the extent of damage remain unknown.
