The Bangladesh Bank has announced that the exchange of new banknotes will commence on 19 March and continue until 25 March at designated scheduled bank branches across Dhaka.
The exchange service will be available on all working days, excluding weekends and public holidays.
According to a press release issued on Sunday (16 February), new notes in denominations of Tk5, Tk20, and Tk50 will be available for exchange under a special arrangement.
However, each individual will be allowed to avail of the service only once to ensure broader public access.
The exchange facilities will be available at 80 branches of various scheduled banks and multiple offices of Bangladesh Bank.
Among the designated branches facilitating the exchange are:

- Pubali Bank (Sadarghat)
- Jamuna Bank (Gulshan Corporate, Lalmatia)
- Mutual Trust Bank (Babu Bazar, Savar)
- National Bank (Mohakhali, Uttara, Srinagar)
- The City Bank (Islampur, Moghbazar)
- South Bangla Agriculture Bank (Bijoynagar)

Additionally, Dutch-Bangla Bank will facilitate exchanges at its local office, New Market, Mirpur, and South Khan SME & Agriculture branches.
The initiative aims to provide the public with crisp new banknotes ahead of the upcoming festive season, ensuring smooth circulation and availability.
