Ali Tunyan Abdul Wahab Hamadah, the newly appointed Ambassador of Kuwait to Bangladesh, expressed Kuwait’s interest in expanding the recruitment of skilled Bangladeshi workers across various professional sectors.
The statement came during his courtesy call on Foreign Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain on Tuesday.
The discussion highlighted Kuwait’s willingness to explore opportunities for hiring Bangladeshi medical practitioners, engineers, technicians, and IT specialists, building on the successful recruitment of 670 Bangladeshi nurses last year under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The Adviser emphasised the importance of ensuring safe and secure working conditions for Bangladeshi expatriates in Kuwait, particularly female workers. Both sides agreed to explore mechanisms to safeguard workers' rights and welfare.
The meeting also touched on potential collaborations in trade and investment. The adviser encouraged the ambassador to engage with prominent business groups in Bangladesh, including the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI), to unlock the untapped potential in bilateral trade.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Bangladesh-Kuwait ties through strategic collaboration in workforce development and economic partnerships.
