A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight, en route from Rome to Dhaka, was compelled to make an emergency landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) after receiving a bomb threat.

The threat was communicated via a phone call from an unidentified number to the airport's control room, said HSIA Executive Director Group Captain Kamrul Islam.

He stated that flight BG-356, carrying 250 passengers and 13 crew members, was threatened while approaching Dhaka.

The aircraft landed safely at 9:20am on Wednesday (22 January).

Passengers and crew were swiftly evacuated to the terminal.
