The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) reform commission presented a detailed report to Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, proposing 47 recommendations aimed at strengthening the institution.

Among the key proposals is the recognition of the ACC as a constitutional entity rather than its current status as a statutory body.

"The ACC must transition to a constitutional entity to ensure independence and effectiveness, though this independence should have clear limits," said Iftekharuzzaman, head of the reform commission, during the report submission.

Key recommendations include expanding the commission's membership from three to five, mandating female representation, and incorporating members with judicial and financial expertise.

The report categorizes the 47 recommendations into short-term, medium-term, and long-term reforms.

According to Iftekharuzzaman, the short-term measures could be implemented within six months, medium-term reforms in 18 months, and long-term changes over 48 months.
