The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and Jatiya Nagarik Committee have announced a six-day campaign from 6 to 11 January to raise public awareness about the "Proclamation of July Revolution." The announcement was made at a press conference held on Saturday (4 January) at Rupayan Tower in the capital.
Hasnat Abdullah, convener of the Coordinating Council of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, described the Proclamation of July Revolution as a pivotal moment in the nation's history.
"We believe the Proclamation of July Revolution holds immense significance for our national life. During the campaign, we will visit every district, distribute leaflets, hold rallies, and engage directly with people," Hasnat Abdullah said.
The campaign aims to highlight the voices of marginalised communities and emphasize the collective participation of people from all walks of life during the July uprising.
Hasnat Abdullah further stated, "The July uprising was a movement for inclusivity, led by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. This campaign seeks to amplify the struggles and aspirations of the most marginalised groups in society."
Jatiya Nagorik Committee Convenor Nasiruddin Patwary said they would announce a tougher programme if the proclamation is delayed.
