Saudi Arabia will commence the observance of the holy month of Ramadan from tomorrow (1 March), as confirmed by the Saudi Royal Court today.
The announcement follows the successful sighting of the Ramadan crescent moon at the Tamir and Hotat Sudair observatories, according to a report by Saudi Gazette.
Ramadan, the ninth and holiest month of the Islamic lunar calendar, holds immense significance for Muslims worldwide. It is believed to be the month during which the Quran was revealed to the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).
The holy month is marked by fasting from dawn to sunset, spiritual reflection, increased prayers, and acts of charity.
