Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has reiterated his firm rejection of any plans for the forced displacement of Palestinians, declaring that Palestine is not for sale.

He emphasised that Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem remain integral parts of Palestinian territory, reaffirming his commitment to preserving their sovereignty.

According to Turkey’s Anadolu Agency, Abbas made these remarks on Wednesday (19 February), stressing that his nation is not up for negotiation or trade.

His comments came during the opening speech of a Fatah Central Committee meeting in Ramallah, located in the central West Bank, as reported by Palestinian news agency WAFA.

Referring to his recent participation in the African Union summit in Addis Ababa, which concluded on Saturday, Abbas underscored Palestine’s resolute stance against any attempt to displace its people.

“Palestine is not for sale,” he reiterated, asserting that no part of Palestinian land—including Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem—would be surrendered under any circumstances.

Additionally, Abbas emphasised the importance of adhering to international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative as the foundation for a political resolution to the Palestinian crisis.

The Arab Peace Initiative, adopted at the Arab League summit in Beirut in 2002, calls for the establishment of a recognised Palestinian state within the pre-1967 borders.

Meanwhile, Abbas welcomed the statement issued by UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed.

During his meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Wednesday, the Emirati leader reaffirmed his country’s firm rejection of any efforts to forcibly displace the Palestinian people.
