Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Sonia Gandhi has been admitted to Gangaram Hospital in Delhi, according to a report by news agency PTI.
Gandhi is reported to be in stable condition and is likely to be discharged on Friday.
She remains under observation by a special team of doctors, though the exact reason for her hospitalisation has not been disclosed.
She was last seen in the Rajya Sabha on 13 February during the Budget Session.
Earlier, on 10 February, she had raised concerns over the National Food Security Act (NFSA), urging the government to expedite the census to ensure accountability to the people.
Highlighting the issue in the Rajya Sabha, she stated that nearly 14 crore people were being deprived of the benefits of the NFSA.
Sonia Gandhi described the legislation, introduced in 2013 under the UPA government, as a historic initiative that has played a crucial role in ensuring food and nutritional security for India's 140 crore citizens, particularly during the COVID-19 crisis.
