Chief Adviser of the Interim Government Dr Muhammad Yunus has issued a series of directives aimed at eradicating corruption, simplifying services, and achieving public satisfaction as part of the initiative to build a new Bangladesh.

These directives, termed as "marching order", were given during a meeting with the secretaries held on Wednesday (4 September), said Chief Adviser's Press Wing.

The directives provided by the chief adviser are as follows:

  •  In formulating reform programmes, necessary discussions and consultations must be held with relevant stakeholders.
  • Inspired by the determination for an equitable and humane country, as demonstrated by the student and public uprising of July-August, we must build a new Bangladesh with honesty, dedication, and accountability in our respective fields, guided by conscience and a sense of justice.
  • To build a new Bangladesh move away from conventional thinking, reform mindset, and conduct government activities creatively, giving utmost importance to the public interest.
  • Corruption must be eradicated, and public satisfaction maximised by simplifying services.
  • The optimal use of public funds must be ensured.
  • Fair competition in government procurement must be guaranteed, and existing obstacles to transparency and accountability must be removed.
  • Every ministry or department should submit a time-bound action plan for short, medium, and long-term reform programmes with a creative, citizen-friendly mindset, which will be regularly evaluated or monitored.
  • The global interest and positive perception generated by the student and public uprising's creation of a new Bangladesh must be utilised in the best possible way for the country's benefit.
