Chief of the commission to reform the EC, Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar has said that efforts are underway to integrate the national identity cards with the voter lists.
This announcement was made during a meeting with the heads of the commission established to advance state reform initiatives, held at the Chief Adviser's office in Tejgaon on Monday (4 November).
During the meeting, Dr Majumdar briefed the chief Adviser on the progress of the Election Reform Commission's initiatives.
He highlighted that appropriate measures are being taken to ensure the voting rights of expatriates.
Additionally, the following points were addressed:
- Work is in progress to facilitate postal ballots for absent voters.
- The integration of national identity cards with voter lists is currently being carried out.
- The Election Reform Commission is placing a strong emphasis on ensuring women's participation in the electoral process, with effective measures being implemented in this regard.
- Communication with stakeholders is being conducted through digital platforms, with consultations actively taking place.
