Distinguished fellow of the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) Professor Dr Mustafizur Rahman today urged the interim government to disclose information about those involved in money laundering and ensure their exemplary punishment speedily.

"The process of bringing back the laundered money from Bangladesh is very complicated and time consuming. So, it is necessary to start the work quickly by appointing forensic experts," he said while addressing as the chief guest a debate competition, held at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) in the capital.

Mustafizur Rahman said that there is nothing to worry for the depositors regarding the bank reform initiative.

Chairman of Debate for Democracy Hassan Ahamed Chowdhury Kiron suggested that the fraudsters and money smugglers would be prosecuted and punished quickly.

The current government will quickly publish the white paper on all the financial irregularities and corruption of the previous government, he hoped.

The debate competition organized by 'Debate for Democracy' began by observing a minute of silence to show respect to the souls of the students killed in the anti-discrimination movement.

The debaters presented arguments on the issue of "Ensuring good governance in the financial sector" for the new Bangladesh.

Debaters of Bangladesh University won the competition defeating BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology.
