Commercial banks in the country have been asked not to allow cash withdrawals of more than Tk2 lakh this week due to lack of security.
The Bangladesh Bank gave the instruction in a letter to the banks on Saturday (10 August) night.
According to the letter, not more than two lakh cash can be withdrawn from one account. The central bank also said that the decision will be applicable only for current week.
