The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement has ruled out any possibility of meeting with the government or the ruling Awami League regarding their ongoing movement.

Asif Mahmud, one of the movement's coordinators, wrote on a Facebook post on Saturday, “We have no intention of engaging in dialogue with the government, which we consider responsible for the violence. Therefore, meeting with the Awami League is also out of the question.”

“We have no plans to sit down with them. Our demands are very clear. If they have anything to say, they can communicate through the media,” Asif added.

“Our decision reflects the stance of the protesting students and the public. No dialogue with gun and terror,” Asif declared.

The announcement follows reports that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed three Awami League leaders to engage with the student protest leaders.
