A total of 27 committees of different wards of Dhaka City North Awami League have been dissolved due to failure and inaction in dealing with the recent quota reform movement.

The decision was taken in a view-exchange meeting organised at Suuchona Community Centre in Mohammadpur of the capital on Thursday (25 July) night.

The party reached the decision after a 5-hour discussion meeting with the leaders of different wards of Mohammadpur, Adabar and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Stations of Dhaka-13 Constituency.

Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Member of Parliament of Dhaka-13 Constituency and member of Awami League Presidium, was present in the meet.

After the meeting, Dhaka City North Awami League President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman confirmed the dissolution of the committees to the media.

He said, “We are not finding them [the leaders] in the movement. Many of them are inactive. So we have dissolved a total of 27 unit committees.”
