At least 4 people were killed in a collision between a long-distance bus and a covered van in the Banani area of Bogura.
The accident took place at quarter past 3:00am on Tuesday (9 July) when a covered van coming from the opposite direction collided with a Shah Fateh Ali Paribahan bus heading from Dhaka to Naogaon, Bogura Sadar Police Inspector (Investigation) Shahinuzzaman Rahman said.
At least 7 people were injured in the accident.
The injured have been admitted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital in Bogura.
Eyewitnesses said the driver of the covered van and a woman died on the spot following the accident; 10 people were injured and one person died on the way to the hospital, later another one succumbed to injuries.
The bodies are being kept in the morgue of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital.
