A policeman was killed when his colleague opened fire at him during performing duty in the capital's Baridhara late Saturday night.
Another pedestrian was injured in the incident and he was sent to hospital.
Mazarul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Gulshan Police Station, confirmed the casualties.
The name of the deceased policeman is Monirul Islam while the name of fellow policeman is Kawsar Ali. Both of them were on duty in front of the Palestinian embassy, said the police official.
The OC also said, "One of our constables shot another constable probably due to mental problems."
