Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has urged police members to carry out their duties with patience and to prioritise their own safety.

In a video message, the IGP stated, “I am requesting all members of the police to perform their duties with patience and strong morale while maintaining their security.”

This briefing is the IGP's first address since Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's resignation and subsequent departure to India yesterday.

The IGP assured that all necessary measures would be taken to address the challenges faced by police members and expressed hope that the current situation would be resolved soon.

He conveyed deep shock over the recent deaths of police officers while on duty and committed to ensuring that treatment would be provided for injured officers.

The IGP urged political party leaders and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement to appeal to the public to refrain from attacking police personnel and establishments.
