Bangladesh secured a five-run victory over Zimbabwe in the 4th T20I at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Friday.

Tanzid Hasan Tamim's half-century and Mustafizur Rahman's three-wicket haul proved to be the difference in a low-scoring affair.

Bangladesh, batting first, managed a modest total of 143 runs. The innings began promisingly, with openers Tamim (52) and Soumya Sarkar (41) forging a solid 101-run partnership.

However, their dismissals triggered a dramatic collapse, with the remaining batters failing to build on the foundation. Only Towhid Hridoy managed to reach double figures (12) as Bangladesh lost all their wickets for a mere 42 runs, with Luke Jongwe claiming three wickets for Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe, in their chase, also struggled to build partnerships and lost wickets at regular intervals.

Johnathan Campbell top-scored with 31, while Ryan Burl and Wellington Masakadza contributed 19 runs each. Despite their efforts, Zimbabwe faltered in the face of disciplined Bangladeshi bowling.

The match reached a thrilling climax in the final over, with Zimbabwe needing 14 runs for victory. However, Shakib Al Hasan held his nerve, taking two crucial wickets and successfully defending the target to secure a hard-fought win for Bangladesh.

The final match of the series will be played at the same venue on May 12th, with Zimbabwe aiming to salvage some pride and avoid a series clean sweep.
