Fire at Kumargaon power plant, 6 units bring the flames under control

A fire broke out at the Kumargaon power plant in Sylhet. Six units of fire service worked to bring the fire under control.

The fire started around 9:00am on Monday (15 April), Taltala Fire Service and Civil Defense Leader Shahidul Islam said.

“As of 10:05am, six units of fire service are working to douse the flames. The fire came under control a few minutes ago. There is no danger of any major accident,” he added.

An engineer working at the plant, who did not wish to be named, said, “At around 9am, a fire broke out in the abandoned air filter of the water treatment plant of the Kumargaon 225 MW power plant. Fire service personnel are present and trying to douse the fire.”
