Star cricketer Tamim Iqbal returned home from hospital on Friday, four days after suffering a heart attack during a domestic cricket match and undergoing emergency medical treatment.
Dr Shahabuddin Talukder, who oversaw Tamim’s treatment at a hospital in Dhaka, confirmed that Tamim was discharged.
“He will have to maintain a rehabilitation programme,” Dr. Shahabuddin said in a press briefing on Friday.
Tamim suffered a cardiac arrest on 24 March at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) in Savar.
The incident happened during a Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match as Mohammedan Sporting Club, led by Tamim was competing against Shinepukur Cricket Club.
Tamim received immediate emergency medical treatment after being transferred to the nearby KPJ Specialized Hospital, where he underwent a successful angiogram procedure to address a blockage in one of the arteries of his heart.
