A heatwave has gripped five districts of the country, prompting meteorologists to warn of rising temperatures over the next two days.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has indicated that the ongoing heatwave may persist in these regions.

According to the latest weather update on Sunday (16 March), a mild heatwave is currently sweeping over Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Kushtia, and Rangamati.

The weather office expects this trend to continue in the coming days.

Meanwhile, some areas in the Sylhet division may experience temporary gusty or squally winds accompanied by rain or thunderstorms.

Elsewhere, the weather is likely to remain dry with partly cloudy skies.

Daytime temperatures may rise slightly across the country, while nighttime temperatures are expected to remain almost unchanged.

BMD predicts a slight increase in both daytime and nighttime temperatures nationwide.

The weather is expected to remain mostly dry, with temporary cloudy conditions in some regions.

However, meteorologists anticipate rain or thunderstorms later in the week, which may bring some relief from the soaring temperatures.
