At least two people, including a child, have been killed after a car drove into crowds at a Christmas market in the German city of Magdeburg on Saturday.

Sixty eight people have been injured, 15 of them seriously, city officials say, reports BBC.

The suspect is believed to be a 50-year-old Saudi Arabian doctor, Saxony PM Reiner Haseloff says, video footage shows the moment he was arrested.

An eyewitness says "it was a chaotic situation" in the aftermath of the attack.
