The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government has pardoned 75 more Bangladeshi nationals jailed for participating in a protest rally in support of the July-August uprising.

This brings the total number of pardoned Bangladeshi expatriates to 188 under the UAE’s general amnesty programme, said a press statement issued by Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment.

The protest was organised in response to oppression and killing against students and civilians during the political unrest in July and August 2024.
