Hefazat-e-Islam's Dhaka Metropolitan chapter has called for a protest rally on Friday (29 November), immediately after Jumu'ah prayers, at the north gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

The rally aims to demand the prohibition of ISKCON activities in Bangladesh and to condemn the brutal murder of young lawyer Saiful Islam Alif in Chattogram.

The announcement followed a meeting held on Thursday (28 November) at Jamia Rahmiya Arabia in Mohammadpur.

The session, presided over by Maulana Junaid Al Habib, president of Hefazat-e-Islam Dhaka Metropolitan, finalised the decision to organise the demonstration.

During the meeting, Hefazat leaders alleged that a segment of the defeated forces in the country is attempting to destabilise the nation by inciting chaos and anarchy, using a faction of the Hindu community.

The leaders claimed ISKCON's activities are part of these efforts, which, they alleged, are aimed at creating national instability.

Referring to the gruesome killing of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif on Tuesday at the Chattogram court premises, the leaders described the incident as an overt attempt to provoke civil unrest.

The leaders announced the protest as a public expression of their demands and urged the nation to remain vigilant against what they termed as “orchestrated communal provocations” by fascist elements and their foreign patrons.

Several prominent members of Hefazat-e-Islam were present at the meeting, including Maulana Mahfuzul Haque, Maulana Mohiuddin Rabbani, Maulana Nazmul Hasan Qasemi, Maulana Mamunul Haque, Maulana Fazlul Karim Qasemi, Maulana Jalaluddin, Mufti Bashirullah, Mufti Munir Hussain Qasemi, Mufti Kefayatullah Azhari, Maulana Lokman Mazhari, Maulana Mohiuddin Masum, Maulana Jubair Ahmad, Mufti Azharul Islam, Maulana Faisal Ahmed, Maulana Enamul Haque Musa, Mufti Kamal Uddin, Maulana Afsar Mahmud, Maulana Abdul Malek, Maulana Shariful Haque, Mufti Aminul Islam Qasemi, Maulana Sanaullah Khan, Maulana Sharif Hossain, and Maulana Bashirul Hasan, among others.

The meeting concluded with a call for public vigilance and a reminder to citizens to resist falling into traps of communal incitement orchestrated by forces intent on disrupting societal harmony.
