Members of the Saad-faction of Tabligh Jamaat ended their sit-in after submitting a memorandum to Chief Adviser Dr Md Yunus, seeking assurance of Maulana Saad’s participation in the Ijtema.

The group vacated their positions at 11:20am on Tuesday (19 November) from the areas in front of the Kakrail Mosque and the residence of the chief justice.

Mohammad Abu Sayem, Media Coordinator for the Nizamuddin followers, told media, “Our sole demand is to ensure Maulana Saad Sahib's participation in the Ijtema. Although we also sought the hosting of the first Ijtema, this matter falls under the government’s jurisdiction and will be determined by their decision.”

He further added, “When we initiated our demonstration, the chief adviser’s press secretary led a delegation of nine members of our group to Jamuna. There, we submitted a memorandum addressed to the chief advisor. We were assured by the press secretary that a prompt decision on this issue would be conveyed. Based on this assurance, we have called off our sit-in.”

Earlier that day, at approximately 8:30am, the demonstrators had gathered in front of the Kakrail Mosque and the chief justice’s residence, demanding Maulana Saad’s guaranteed participation in the Ijtema and the conduct of the first Ijtema.

Around 9:30am, a delegation of nine representatives of the Tabligh Jamaat, led by the invitation of the chief adviser’s press secretary, proceeded to State Guesthouse Jamuna where they formally presented the memorandum addressed to the chief adviser through his press secretary.
