Bangladesh women’s football team returned to Dhaka on Thursday (31 October), bringing home the SAFF Championship title for the second consecutive year.

This impressive victory unfolded at Kathmandu’s Dasharath Stadium, where Sabina, Rituparna, Tohura, and their teammates defeated Nepal on Wednesday, marking yet another triumph for the team.

An open-top bus, already stationed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, awaited the champions to escort them in style through the city.

This marks a repeat of the team’s 2022 homecoming, when they clinched their first SAFF title in Nepal, coincidentally at the same venue.

At that time, the open-top bus parade had been unplanned, arranged spontaneously after midfielder Sanjida Akter posted on Facebook, calling for a celebratory procession. This year, the team once again reminded officials of this memorable gesture, ensuring a similar homecoming.
