Sheikh Hasina has been ousted, with the people toppling an illegitimate government through a public uprising, according to Hasnat Abdullah, a key coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

In a post on his Facebook account on Monday (21 October), Hasnat Abdullah remarked that there is no role for any resignation letter in this context.

His comments followed a recent investigative report published in the weekly "Janatar Chokh", which featured a claim by Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, the editor of "Daily Manabzamin", stating that there is no documented evidence of Hasina's resignation. This assertion has sparked extensive discussion and criticism across the country.

The debate surrounding whether former prime minister Sheikh Hasina has resigned or not continues, and it may persist for some time.

Sheikh Hasina's son, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, has repeatedly asserted that she has not resigned. However, Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman had previously informed the media about the former prime minister's resignation.
