A section of the Dhaka-Sylhet railway track in Pubail, Gazipur has cracked, causing a halt to train services on this route and the Dhaka Mail train, filled with passengers, has reportedly been stranded at the damaged section.

Local residents first noticed the broken track near the Arikhola railway station area in Gazipur’s Pubail at around 6:00 am on Wednesday (25 September).

They promptly informed the railway authorities, who then arrived at the scene.

The Dhaka Mail train, carrying passengers, was subsequently stranded due to the break in the line.

Attempts to contact the station master on duty at Arikhola railway station for comments were unsuccessful as he could not be reached by phone.
