Three men were killed and one was injured in a tragic road accident in Narail's Lohagra upazila when a truck collided with them while they were carrying a funeral bier

At least 3 people were killed, and another was injured in a road accident involving a truck in the Lohagra upazila of Narail district.

The incident occurred in the Maitkumra area, in front of the Ashrayan Project on the Nôrail-Lohagra highway around 1:00am on Wednesday (11 September), said Lohagra Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdullah Al Mamun.

The deceased have been identified as Shamim Sheikh (30), son of Hemayet Sheikh, Zia Biswas, 35, son of Ramzan Biswas, and Russell Mollah, 38, son of Jamal Mollah—all from Maitkumra village in the municipality. The injured individual, Queen Sheikh, 25, is the son of Hobibar Sheikh from the same village.

According to local sources and the police, the victims were carrying the funeral bier of Russell’s grandmother from the mosque to their home for burial. As they were travelling along the Kalna-Narail-Benapole highway, a truck from Lohagra struck them in the Maitkumra area, resulting in the immediate deaths of three men and injuring one.

Locals rushed the injured man, Queen Sheikh, to Lohagra Upazila Health Complex. After receiving primary treatment, he was transferred to Narail Sadar Hospital for further medical care.
