The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the squad for the three match ODI series against Afghanistan in the UAE today, including fast bowler Nahid Rana as the only uncapped member.
Nahid had recently made an impressive start to the Test format, a thing that was instrumental in giving him an ODI nod.
Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead the side as usually even though he was reportedly to quit the captaincy from all formats of cricket. Mehidy Hasan Miraz will act as his deputy.
Wicket-keeper batter Liton Das is a notable omission. He was not considered for selection as he is still suffering from fever which had kept him out of the second Test against South Africa.
The Bangladesh team will depart for Dubai in two groups on Saturday and Sunday.
The ODIs will be on 6, 9 and 11 November. All the matches will be held at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
The series is Bangladesh's preparation platform for the next year's Champions trophy.
