Leaders and activists of the National Citizen Party (NCP) visited the Rayerbazar Mass Killing Site on Tuesday (4 March) morning to pay their respects to the martyrs of the 2024 uprising, offering prayers at their graves.

The delegation, led by NCP Convener Nahid Islam and Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, arrived at the site at approximately 10am to participate in the tribute. Central leaders of the newly formed political party were present during the commemoration.

Prior to this, NCP leaders also paid homage at the National Martyrs’ Memorial, marking their party’s first official programme since its inception. This solemn tribute signified the party’s formal political journey.

Later in the afternoon, at 3 pm, an executive committee introduction meeting is scheduled to be held at the party’s central office. The session will be presided over by Convener Nahid Islam and Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, with central members in attendance.

NCP was officially launched on 28 February with a public gathering at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital, announcing its entry into the nation’s political landscape.
