The price of bottled soybean oil has been reduced to Tk163 from Tk173 per litre.
State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu announced the new price after a meeting of the taskfor on market and price monitoring at the conference room of the ministry today (20 February).
The new price will be effective from 1 March.
Also, the price of loose soybean oil has been cut to Tk149 per litre from Tk159.
The state minister warned that lawsuits would be filed in cases of non-compliance with the new rate under the Control of Essential Commodities Act, 1956, the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009, and the Special Powers Act, 1974.
