Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has ruled out any intention of the government to create division within the BNP.
Responding to a BNP allegation that the government is working to create division among opposition parties inside and outside the parliament, Quader said, “Falsehood has always been a vital part of BNP politics.”
Quader, who also serves as the road transport and bridges minister, made these remarks at a press conference at the Awami League president’s office in the capital’s Dhanmondi area today (19 February).
“The division between the sections representing the Jatiyo Party inside and outside the parliament is their internal matter. None of the parliamentarians are involved in the process. Furthermore, those engaging in Jatiyo Party politics outside are not affiliated with the Parliament. Therefore, we are not concerned about them,” said Quader.
He also mentioned that the government is working to reduce the prices of daily essentials, which has led to a declining trend in the market. Although the price of some goods is on the rising trend, he added.
He also assured government preparedness to deal with any risk on the Myanmar border.
