Habiganj-4 constituency independent lawmaker Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Sumon has filed a general diary with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station in Dhaka Saturday (29 June) evening seeking safety.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) of Tejgaon Zone (Shere Bangla Police Station and Tejgaon Police Station) of DMP's Tejgaon Division confirmed the matter to the media.

The outspoken lawmaker also shared a copy of the GD on his verified Facebook page.

In the GD, Sumon said he received a phone call at 8pm on Friday from the Officer-in-Charge of Chunarughat Police Station. The OC informed him that a strong gang comprising four to five people has made plot to kill him.

When asked about their identities, the OC declined to identify the individuals. The OC, however, asked him to be cautious, reads the GD.

“Being informed the matter, he is feeling severe insecurity," it adds.
