BNP has planned to create panic among people with loud explosions on the 7th January's Jatiya Sangsad Election, said Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun.
The police head said, "We already obtained this information and are prepared."
The police IGP made the comment in a press briefing on the security situation centering the national polls at Willes Little Flower School and College in Kakrail of Dhaka on Friday noon.
"Police arrested a Chhatra Dal (student front of BNP) leader from Magura. He confessed to the sabotage plan on the polls day. Additionally, information from various sources is being collected. All kinds of conspiracies will be confronted," the IGP added.
The IGP warned that the outcome will be severe if anyone tries to sabotage during the election.
"Saboteurs will be brought to book. Harsh measures would be taken against the violators of laws," IGP asserted.
He directed the masses to seek services in any emergency need by contacting the nearest police station and the national helpline number 999.
He also urged voters to implement their voting rights freely.
