Resistance groups have successfully seized two junta military outposts in Hpakant and Mansi townships in Kachin State within a span of less than a week, according to reports from The Irrawaddy.

Forces aligned with Brigade 9 of the Kachin Independence Organization (KIA), the armed wing of the Kachin Independence Organization, alongside the People's Defense Forces (PDF) under the National Unity Government, launched coordinated attacks on the junta’s Nam Tin outpost near Lone Khin town along the Hpakant-Kamaing Road on the evening of February 2nd.

Residents reported that the KIA and PDF successfully captured the outpost around 11 am on February 3rd.

A resident of Lone Khin stated, 'The junta’s military troops had been cut off by the KIA and resistance groups for a couple of weeks. They were not able to leave or get any supplies, and with the troops in a weakened state, the resistance was able to seize it successfully.'

Additionally, on February 2nd, another combined force of KIA and PDF troops seized a junta military outpost near Ba Laung Dein Sar Village in Mansi town, Bhamo District, as reported by Kachin-based media outlets.

A report published by The Irrawaddy on 5 February, citing sources from People’s Defense Forces (PDFs) and Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs), indicate that the military junta has suffered significant losses, including the deaths of 62 troops, over the past three days. Rebel factions, including PDFs and EAOs, have intensified their attacks on regime targets nationwide.

Incidents have been reported from Sagaing, Magwe, and Mandalay regions, as well as Kachin and Karen states.
