BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today underscored the need for forging political unity under the current circumstances as there is a kind of instability going on in the country.
“We are making some definite issues indefinite. Two words- reform and elections- are being spoken a lot. Therefore, it will be the responsibility of all political parties and groups to resolve the problems through discussions with great patience,” he said.
He was addressing a memorial meeting on party Vice Chairman Abdullah Al Noman at Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh in Kakrail. Abdullah Al Noman died at his Dhanmondi residence on February 25 this year.

He urged the party men to stay vigilant as struggle is not over yet and the path to a democratic transition is not yet smooth.
“We have not yet got a parliament elected by the people through elections. For this reason, we have to work very carefully, firmly, and with awareness. The party has to be made stronger and more powerful,” he said.
Paying tribute to Abdullah Al Noman, the BNP Secretary General said, Abdullah Al Noman worked to implement the dream of building a democratic Bangladesh. Noman could create a movement even in the most adverse environment and he had the power to unite people, he added.
